Overview
Why finance an HVAC installation
A new central air, heat pump or furnace system is one of the larger purchases most homeowners make for their house, typically running from several thousand dollars for a straightforward changeout to well more for a full system with ductwork or an electrical upgrade. Financing spreads that cost over a term instead of requiring the full amount upfront, and a strong promotional rate can mean the financed cost is close to, or in some cases the same as, paying cash outright.
Rates as low as 0% APR, subject to credit approval and loan term. Actual rate, term and monthly payment depend on the applicant's creditworthiness and the financing plan selected. Not all applicants will qualify for the lowest advertised rate. Ask your comfort advisor for current plans and terms available for your project.
When it helps
Situations where financing typically makes sense
Financing isn't the right call for every job, but it's worth asking about in a few common situations.
The system failed without warning
An unexpected compressor or heat-exchanger failure, often during a heat wave or cold snap, doesn't leave much time to save up. Financing lets the replacement happen on your schedule instead of your system's.
You're upgrading efficiency tier
A higher-SEER2 or variable-speed system costs more upfront and saves more over time. Financing can make the efficiency upgrade affordable now, while the energy savings help offset the payment.
You're converting to a heat pump
A heat pump conversion sometimes includes electrical work a like-for-like AC swap wouldn't need. Financing can absorb that difference so the electrification decision isn't made on cost alone.
You want to combine it with a current offer
$1,500 Off All New Installs + a Free Smart Thermostat may apply alongside financing on a qualifying installation. Ask your comfort advisor when you get your written options.
You're comparing monthly cost, not just sticker price
For some homeowners, a monthly payment close to a typical utility bill increase is an easier comparison than a single large number. Financing turns the decision into that comparison.
You'd rather not deplete savings for a planned upgrade
Even when a homeowner could pay cash, some prefer to preserve savings and finance a planned, non-emergency upgrade instead.
How it works
Financing and the estimate process
- Evaluation and written options. We assess the home and put two or three system options in writing first, the same as any other job. See the replacement process guide for the full sequence.
- Financing plans reviewed against a real number. With written options in hand, your comfort advisor can go over current financing plans, including whether the promotional 0% rate applies to your selected term and equipment.
- Application and approval. Approval, rate and term are determined by the financing plan and your credit, not guaranteed by Superior Air.
- Installation proceeds on the normal schedule. Financing changes how the job is paid for, not how it’s evaluated, sized or installed.
